"Glass" Sculptures
5th graders are learning about glass artist Dale Chihuly as they create their own sculpture from transparency paper. They began by coloring their transparency paper with a group of analogous colors (colors that are neighbors on the color wheel). Next, they will use these papers to assemble their sculpture.

Sugar Skull Plaster Masks
5th graders learned about the Mexican/Central American holiday Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). They used plaster strips and plastic mask forms to create their mask. They have spent the last couple of weeks painting, and adding designs to their sugar skulls.
Circle Loom Weaving
5th graders have begun painting their circle loom for our circle weaving project. Their first step was to paint concentric circles in order to fill their circle loom with color. This week students added line and pattern to create visual interest.
This week 5th graders began weaving on their circle looms!
