Clay Dragons
4th graders began their clay unit by learning about the Chinese New Year celebration. We then compared and contrasted Eastern Dragons and Western Dragons. After some planning and sketching, students were ready to dive into their clay sculptures.

Sugar Skull Symmetrical Drawing
After learning about Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a holiday celebrated in Mexico and Central America, 4th graders began drawing their own sugar skull designs. They light from windows to trace their work from one side of their skull to the other, working hard to make sure they were symmetrical. They finished them off by cutting and gluing them to black paper, adding paper flowers and of course glitter details!
Circle Loom Weaving
4th graders have begun painting their circle loom for our circle weaving project. Their first step was to paint concentric circles in order to fill their circle loom with color.
Just a few of the 4th grade's gorgeous, finished Circle Loom Weavings!
